draw up complete design

Draw up Complete Designs

Submission Drawings Preparation

The submission drawings will be prepared by the project’s architect, following the fire safety requirements that we have outlined. Additionally, these drawings will incorporate all specifications needed for compliance.

Design Approach

This will be either a rational design or a deemed-to-satisfy design.  Therefore, it will meet all safety requirements set out by the National Building Regulations. Moreover, the design approach ensures that both functional and regulatory aspects of fire safety are fully addressed.

Submit Plans to the Local Fire Authority

Plan Submission to Local Fire Authorities

Once the submission drawings and tender specifications meet our standards, Prana FM fire protection company will submit the plans to the local fire authority. Additionally, we liaise directly with the fire department to ensure all requirements are clearly understood and addressed.

Approval and Compliance

Furthermore, submitting the plans early allows for any feedback or adjustments to be incorporated efficiently. Ultimately, this process guarantees that the project receives the necessary approvals, enabling safe, compliant, and timely implementation of all fire protection systems.

Draw up Tender Specifications

Tender Specification Preparation

Prana FM will draw up the tender specifications, outlining the materials, workmanship, and technical requirements contractors must meet. Additionally, these specifications ensure all contractors understand the fire safety compliance requirements, including fire sprinkler systems, fire detection systems, and emergency preparedness standards.

Ensuring Compliance and Quality

This approach ensures the project meets regulatory standards and your organization’s fire protection needs. Furthermore, it reduces errors, delays, and misunderstandings. Ultimately, the specifications provide a foundation for a safe, compliant, and efficient fire protection project.

bill of quantities

Draw up Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

Bills of Quantities (BOQ) Preparation

Prana FM fire protection company will prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for your project. Additionally, the BOQ outlines all required materials, labor, and equipment, ensuring clarity for contractors during tendering. This step allows for accurate budgeting and transparent cost comparisons between contractors.

Ensuring Accuracy and Compliance

Furthermore, the BOQ ensures that all work aligns with the fire safety specifications and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this process guarantees that contractors deliver quality work while meeting fire protection standards, resulting in a safe, compliant, and efficiently managed project.

COMPREHENSIVE FIRE AUDITS

Fire audits are undertaken to determine if, at a given point in time, the fire safety systems meet, exceed, or fall short of nominated benchmarks. Moreover, the audit may also provide information for the determination of options for remedial works or additional activities. Therefore, Prana FM fire protection company performs the required fire audits to ensure the workplace is compliant with respect to due diligence:

GAS SUPPRESSION AND DETECTION DIVISION

Depending on your specific needs, Prana FM Fire Protection Specialists provide a range of gas detection systems to complement our fire safety solutions. Additionally, while a combination of systems is available, gas detection devices generally fall into two main categories:
smoke detectors

Smoke Detectors

Smoke Detectors - Spot Type:
Photoelectric and lionization; line type, projected beam.

Smoke Detector - Air:
Sampling type, cloud chamber.

carbon monoxide detector

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Detects poisonous carbon monoxide gas and is commonly connected to household fire alarm systems. Very rarely seen in commercial systems.

SPRINKLER DIVISION

Prana FM Fire Safety Experts is able to design, supply, install, and commission foam, water sprinkler, and deluge systems to meet your specific requirements. Additionally, we ensure compliance with Building Code 0400, local civil and defense fire departments, and BIS (British International Standards). Furthermore, our systems protect a wide range of environments, including office blocks, high-rise towers, apartment blocks, and shopping centers.

wet pipe system

Wet Pipe Systems

Wet pipe sprinkler systems are the most reliable systems because of their simple design. In fact, the only operating components are the automatic sprinklers and the automatic alarm check valve. Additionally, an automatic water supply keeps the system piping pressurized with water at all times.

As a result, all piping remains filled with water until sufficient heat is applied. When this occurs, one or more sprinklers fuse and open. However, only the activated sprinkler discharges water. During operation, exposure to heat causes the sprinkler’s sensitive element to release, allowing water to flow. Furthermore, sprinklers are manufactured to react to a range of temperature ratings for different environments.

dry pipe system

Dry Pipe Systems

Dry pipe systems are used, by regulation, in areas where ambient temperatures may drop low enough to freeze water in a wet pipe system. As a result, they prevent system failure caused by frozen pipes. These systems are the second most common sprinkler system type and use automatic sprinklers connected to a piping network filled with pressurized air. Therefore, water is not present in the piping until the system activates.

Additionally, the piping remains pressurized with air at a maintenance pressure, which is lower than the water supply pressure. During operation, when one or more automatic sprinklers are exposed to sufficient heat, they activate and open. Consequently, the maintenance air vents through the activated sprinkler, allowing the dry pipe valve to open and water to enter the system.

deluge system

Deluge Systems

Deluge systems use open sprinklers, meaning the heat-sensing element is removed during installation. As a result, all sprinklers connected to the piping system remain open. These systems are used for special hazard areas where rapid fire spread is a concern. Therefore, they provide simultaneous water application across the entire hazard area.

Additionally, water is not present in the piping until the system activates. Because the sprinkler orifices remain open, the piping stays at ambient air pressure. To prevent water supply pressure from entering the piping prematurely, the system uses a deluge valve at the supply connection. This valve is mechanically latched and does not reset. Once tripped, it remains open to ensure continuous fire suppression.

pre-action systems

Pre-Action Systems

Pre-action sprinkler systems are specialized for use in locations where accidental activation is not desired. For example, they are commonly installed in museums, data centers, and areas housing rare artworks, manuscripts, or books. Additionally, these systems combine features of wet, dry, and deluge sprinkler systems to provide controlled fire protection.

Single interlock systems operate in a similar way to dry pipe systems. However, they require a supervised detection event before water enters the system piping. As a result, the pre-action valve opens only after this event occurs. Double interlock systems, on the other hand, function similarly to deluge systems but use automatic sprinklers. Therefore, they require both a supervised detection event and sprinkler activation before water is introduced into the piping.

foam water system

Foam Water Systems

Foam water sprinkler systems are designed for areas with high fire risk. They are commonly used in flammable liquid zones, fuel storage areas, and aircraft hangars. Additionally, these systems discharge a mixture of water and low-expansion foam through the sprinklers to suppress fires effectively.

Depending on the system design, foam is injected during activation. As a result, the system controls flames rapidly and limits fire spread. Therefore, foam water sprinkler systems provide reliable protection for specialized commercial and industrial hazards.

water spray system

Water Spray Systems

Operationally identical to deluge systems, water spray systems utilise pipe and nozzle configurations that protect unique hazards, such as an electrical transformer containing flammable liquid. The spray nozzle and pipe setup are designed around the often three-dimensional nature of the hazard.
